Welcome to the State of

In spite of the self-deprecating sarcasm in the heading, I’m planning to be very busy this year in pursuing several unresolved endeavors. I’ve decided to take my focus away from grad school to channel my energy towards completing a few artistically centered goals which include, in no particular order: revamping my website, starting my own business of motivational performances, recording an album and publishing my writings. Realistically I only plan to start laying the groundwork for these goals to be met and hope to have more developed plans by the summertime. I’m also planning to make some poetry night appearances at local venues (like the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge), so I’ll keep you posted. Wishing you find some greatness in your 2008ness: like a surplus check.

This past March I had the privilege of reuniting with two members of my college singing group Nostalgia, Rodney Lartey-Otoo and Andy Dejean (without missing member: George Papino-Wood). We had the opportunity to sing, the National Anthem, together for the first time in over five years at an Easter Seals celebrity basketball game. After shaking off some of the vocal rust, we did a pretty good job with only one day of practice. In fact, you can be the judge by watching the video on Reyality TV.

The Lone Ranger had his Silver horse, and I had my silver van. We shared some movies, concerts and one year of grad school. Unfortunately due to my economic situation (like a lot of others), I wasn’t able to afford to keep my wheels. From mechanical issues to the price of gas, I was not in a position to financially succeed.

After speaking with the integrated students (of all abilities) at the O’Hearn school in Dorchester, I finally committed to a career goal of motivational speaking/performing. Although with all the different types of jobs I’ve held in my lifetime I would probably be received with open arms by the Jamaican family, The Headley’s, on In Living Color, I did get my degree in Education Studies with Honors as well as receiving The Key Society’s Future Educator Award. Needless to say, I think I’m finally beginning to accept my role in life. Check out the video piece on Reyality TV!
